The third generation Adtran Total Access 916E is an IP business gateway released by Adtran. The third generation 916e provides three Ethernet interfaces, one of them a Gigabit port now along with two more fast Ethernet ports. As with all Total Access 916E gateways, the 4243916F5 provides 16 FXS ports to support legacy analog equipment such as fax machines, modems, and single-line phones. The Adtran 916e 3rd Gen also supports the ability to use an optional configuration as an enterprise Session Border Controller. The Adtran 4243916F5 is the single DSP version with Lifeline FXO version of the 916e Gateway. The Adtran 916e single DSP version supports up to 30 SIP channels at a time versus the 4243916F2 with support for up to 60 channels.
